Dr. Pan Suk Kim, EROPA member and IIAS Executive Committee member, received the International Public Administration Award from the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA).
EROPA Seminar on "Governance in a Triptych: Environment, Migration, Peace and Order" successfully held in Manila.
Raul P. de Guzman Foundation funded six Filipino scholars to attend the 2008 EROPA Seminar.
Dr. Akira Nakamura awarded "Plaque of Recognition" for his invaluable efforts for EROPA.
Hon. Sa Bali Abas is the current Director-General of the Public Service Department, Brunei Darussalam.
Hon. Toshio Ooishi is the new president of the Local Autonomy College, Japan.
His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Hassan Pasvar of the Islamic Republic of Iran elected as new Chair of the EROPA Executive Council.
Hon. Chung, Jang-Sik of COTI Korea assumed Vice-Chair post of the EROPA Executive Council
University of Canberra, Public Service Department (Brunei Darussalam), Council of Local Authorities for International Relations(Japan), and Career Executive Service Board (Philippines) elected as group member representatives.
Mr. Akio Kamiko and Dr. Perla Legaspi elected as new individual member representatives.
COTI is now under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS, Korea).
Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong is the present President of National Institute of Development Administration (Thailand).
Hon. Chung Jang-Sik is the new President of the Central Officials Training Institute (Korea).
Hon. Deependra Bickram Thapa is the current Secretary of the Ministry of General Administration (Nepal).
Dr. Nguyen Trong Dieu is the current President of the National Academy of Public Administration (Vietnam).
The Eastern Regional Organization for Public Administration (EROPA) is an organization of states, groups and individuals in the general area of Asia and the Pacific. The Organization came into being in 1960, in response to a common desire among developing countries to promote regional cooperation in improving knowledge, systems and practices of government administration to help accelerate economic and social development.
The EROPA 22nd General Assembly and Conference
on "Public Governance in Challenging Economic Times:

will be
held in Seoul, Korea on 19-23 October 2009. The event
