COMPOSITION
The Membership of EROPA includes States, Groups, and Individuals.
There are presently twelve State Members in the Organization. These are: Australia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, People's Republic of China, Philippines, Thailand, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Group Members consist of Institutions such as institutes and schools of public administration, universities, government agencies and cities within the region. Individual Members are persons whose work and professional activities have served to promote the interests of EROPA. EROPA also admits countries, groups and individuals outside of the region as Associate Members. These Associate Members possess all the prerogatives and responsibilities of regular members except the right to vote at any of its organs.
In October 1983, the EROPA Tenth General Assembly approved the establishment of a Membership Network. Each State Member identifies four institutions and ten individuals in each country to compose the EROPA Membership Network. The four institutions may be a combination of government ministries/departments, schools/institutes of public administration, research/training centers and professional associations of management scholars/practitioners. The ten individuals may be a combination of executives/administrators in government, academicians or scholars in public administration or related fields. This core group of institutions and individuals would be involved in projects and activities to be conducted by EROPA toward the advancement of both theory and practice of public administration particularly in the Asian/Pacific Region.
Group membership in EROPA (academic and government) now total 112. Individual membership (academicians and public administration practitioners) now total 489. (As of December 2003) |
