The EROPA Development Management Center
The EROPA Development Management Center was established in
November 1966 in the Central Officials Training Institute (COTI) in Seoul,
Korea. As an agency under EROPA, the Center aims to contribute to effective
development and improvement of organization and management programs in Public
Administration in the Asia-Pacific region.
Since 1987, the Center, in collaboration with the COTI, has
been conducting international Executive Development Program (EDP) for
Government Officials from EROPA member countries, as well as countries outside
the Asia-Pacific region, as one of its main activities. Countries outside the
region that have participated in various EDPs include Guyana, Hungary, Trinidad
and Tobago, Poland, Bulgaria, Russia, Czech Republic, Chile, Romania and
Bahrain. The international EDP focuses on strategies associated with Korea’s
rapid economic development and the morale training of Korean government
officials who have played key roles in that development.
The Center, along with the COTI, has moved to a new area in
Kyenggi-do which is still in the vicinity of Seoul. The campus with the modern
and most sophisticated educational and research facilities serves to revitalize
the functions and activities of the centers.
The primary objective of the COTI is to develop government
officials by providing, at the national level, in-service management
development training for senior executives in the government. In addition, the
COTI gives support to other public sector training institutes and centers.
